Karsa sofa

Karsa sofa is foldable, segment, lightweight object, consisting of 22 elements, 11 in one a 11 in other direction. Individual elements are connected with zip lock’s, which allow chair to fold, and further strengthen the structure connecting elements together. Functional prototypes are made out white soft expanded PVC and/or from 5 layer cardboard and tested up to 100 kilos.
Prototype is relatively light weight, around 5 kg, it’s easy to carry, and when it's not in use, it can be fitted behind a closet or under the bed. The form of the sofa is transformed or completely flattened, by gently pressing sides of the object. In this way, one can get a different seating positions, fixed by weight while sitting. Dimensions of the sofa are 90x90x60cm when it’s in use and 120x10x60cm when folded.
